ROSS LAING
Upon first seeing a black and white image magically appear in the developer tray of his Dad’s makeshift darkroom at age nine, Ross Laing has been captivated by photography and is still in awe of its alchemy in fusing art with science.

As a keen amateur photographer, Ross has been clicking camera shutters for more than five decades. Shooting a variety of photographic genres, he especially enjoys making landscapes, architectural and abstract images.

A career as an educator including his current role as an international education consultant have taken him to many countries and fostered his interest in travel photography.
More recently, he has been focused on developing both macro as well as portrait photography skills, often crafting his photographs with vintage Pentax and Takumar lenses.

Ross is an active member of Ottawa’s R.A. Photo Club and recently completed the Photography Techniques program at Algonquin College.
